Depression affects different people in many different ways. If you feel that you are living with this condition here are some mental side effects of depression to look for that can help you determine if you really are depressed. A person suffering from this condition finds it very difficult to get through a normal day. It causes problems at work making it hard to concentrate and interferes with personal relationships. Some people find that they don’t even want to get out of bed because they are so worried about what might happen today. Others can’t sleep and get so tired and worn out from having insomnia they feel numb all over.

People who are depressed feel tired and worn out all the time. You may feel sad and have an empty feeling that you just can’t seem to get rid of no matter what you do. Nothing that you use to do appeals to you or seems exciting anymore. You probably also noticed that you would rather stay home alone than to go out with friends. Many people find it very difficult to even hold a simple conversation with someone else. These symptoms make you even more depressed and you it gets even harder to function properly or make a simple decision.

Depression causes your body to ache and hurt all over. Nothing seems to ease this pain because it is not caused by a physical problem. Headaches are a common sign of depression as well. Many people stop eating when they are depressed because it is such a burden while uses overeat and suffer with excessive weight gain which contributes to their depression. Crying for no real reason is a big side effect especially among women. People with depression are restless, irritable and many have a feeling of complete hopelessness. Eventually, depression can lead to a person believing they should no longer be alive and suicide seems to be the only way out.

It is very sad to see someone in this shape when it really isn’t necessary. Depression can be treated but the first step is to see your doctor and tell them of all the symptoms you are experiencing. Don’t leave out any detail as everything is crucial to receive the right diagnosis and finding the right treatment for you. Don’t let anyone tell you that depression is just a state of mind and you can get over it if you try. Normal everyday feelings is a state of mind that can be handled fast and easy sometimes, but depression is much more and you may need help getting your life back under control.
