The aim and the purpose of both Restylane injection and Botox are the same. Only the method and the medicines used are different which also work differently. Both aim at rejuvenating people. Both aim at removing wrinkles, folds and to fill up the gaps left by the ageing process. And to a great degree both Botox and restylane are successful. It is considered safe and natural cosmetic filler. In December 2003, the U S Food and Drug Administration approved the use of Restylane for the treatment of facial wrinkles. Unlike other dermal fillers, including botox, restylane permeates the dermal tissue and naturally binds to water molecules. The modified water molecules assist in achieving volume showing a natural appearance. Restylane is gradually degraded by the body and dissolves without any residue. The treatment is immediately visible unlike botox which may take a couple of days to see the results.

Botox treatment lasts for four to six months after which the patient needs to be treated again. But restylane lasts longer and there are some patients who have achieved success with just one treatment. Restylane injection is injected just below the surface of the skin while botox is injected into the muscles. Restylane works by filling up the troughs while botox acts by paralyzing the muscles.
