Latest And Hippest Gadgets

It’s hard to imagine a world without technology. Inventions start out in boffin’s laboratories and often end up in our homes. The coolest gadgets are in the imagination of Hollywood directors but some things are within the ordinary person’s reach. Satellite Navigation is the latest bit of wizardry to sit in our vehicles, sometimes sending us up the side of a mountain when we should be cruising up Main Street.

We take our state of the art, bluetooth mobile phones for granted now. They are slim, light and can connect to the Internet and incorporate an email service. The first ones look comical now and were the size of a brick. We like to take our music wherever we go and iPods that hold 1,000 songs are very popular. Young people seem to go round with their heads permanently down, as they play on their hand held computer games or busily text their friends. The coolest gadgets are appreciated by the teenagers of Japan and Korea, who embrace each new gizmo that comes along with great enthusiasm. Everything shrinks in the end as microchips get smaller and smaller, there are portable DVD players available now.

Technology hasn’t just improved leisure time; it’s changed the world of business too. Electronic filofaxes are very useful for storing telephone numbers, addresses and information such as upcoming appointments. The only problem is that owners tend to rely on them and their whole lives are thrown into turmoil if they lose their filofax.

Spies and superheroes definitely get the best of everything. The James Bond films have consistently come up with the coolest gadgets for each new film. Q patiently shows Bond his latest invention and makes Bond promise not to break it. Now, you don’t have to join the Secret Service in order to have fun, there is a web site which sells James Bond recorder pens and watches, spy glasses and concealed cameras. Another crime fighter who uses technology to assist him is Batman. He is equipped with his Bat Belt full of handy tools like the Batrope, which he uses to scale tall buildings.

Children will be familiar with the cartoon antics of Inspector Gadget. He was fond of genius items such as the helicopter blades appearing out of his hat and the roller skates coming out of his shoes. The Coyote kept ordering the coolest gadgets from the Acme catalogue to catch Roadrunner, but it would never turn out the way he wanted.
