Converting Your Regular Car Into An Electric Car

A few years ago, the documentary “who killed the electric car” went over the EV1 and electric cars. They claim that oil companies and major car companies put effort into preventing the electric car from ever being released, which would make some sense. There were also very few electric cars ever produced. General Motors (creators of the EV1, the first commercially available electric car) only made a few hundred, and very few people signed up to try one. Most people had never even heard of one.

It is actually possible to do an electric car conversion and make your current car an electric car. A simple Google search will reveal a lot of what you need to know. The general consensus is that it will take at least a few hundred dollars worth of parts, plus several hours of your own time to convert your car. That’s at a minimum. However, electric cars have tons of advantages (the main one being that they don’t need gasoline) and so if you have some technical knowledge then it can be worth doing.

Before converting your car into an electric, you’ll need to pick up a good guide taking you through everything. There are only a couple or so out right now. Before getting one, make sure to check for reviews of the product.
